Bulls Takes Game 1 but lose DRose to injury

CHICAGO (AP) Derrick Rose crumbled to the floor, clutching his left knee. His season is over and the Bulls' title hopes just might be finished, too.

Rose will miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee late in Chicago's 103-91 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Saturday's playoff opener, casting big cloud over a team eyeing a championship run.

He scored 23 points and was playing more like the league's reigning MVP after missing 27 games because of injuries during the regular season, but his injury-plagued season came to an end as the Bulls were wrapping up an impressive victory.

Rose crumbled to the ground after he drove the lane with about 1:20 left and the Bulls leading by 12. He was going for a layup when he came to a jump-stop and seemed to change his mind as the 76ers' Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen rotated over, passing off to a teammate before an awkward landing.

Team medical personnel immediately rushed out and tended to Rose for several minutes as he was writhing in pain near the baseline before helping him to the locker room. Rose was taken to the hospital, and the results of the MRI were not good.

Footballer dies after collapsing on the pitch

Italy- Livorno midfielder Piermario Morosini collapsed on the pitch after suffering a cardiac arrest in the 31st minute of a Serie B match against Pescara.

Medical workers attempted to resuscitate the 25-year-old on the pitch, but according to the AP, a cardiologist at the hospital to which Morosini was taken reported that he was dead upon arrival and never regained consciousness. The match was abandoned as players left the pitch in tears.

A defibrillator was used on Morosini on the pitch, but the ambulance was held up by a police car blocking its path.

Pescara president Daniele Sebastiani said that Morosini suffered "three cardiac arrests in quick succession." Morosini repeatedly tried to get back up after his initial fall, while his teammates shouted at the referee -- who had his back to Morosini -- to have play stopped.

Morosini, a former Italian youth national team player, was on loan at Livorno from Serie A side Udinese. The Serie A club informed Italian football's governing body (the FGIC) that they would not be able to play their scheduled match against Inter on Saturday evening after such a devastating shock and all Italian matches across all divisions scheduled for this weekend were suspended a short time later.

Georgia senior Bobby Brown throws down incredible slam over five players to win dunk contest

No he is not the Bobby Brown ex-hubby of Whitney.  :)

On Saturday, Brown took his talent to a new level, clearing five hoops prospects, all of whom stood 6-foot-1 or taller (except for the middle schooler in front), on an incredible slam to win the ScoutsFocus Elite Showcase Slam Dunk Contest at USC-Aiken. Incredibly, one of the players Brown cleared stands 6-foot-10.
