WADA Hacked Revealed American Athletes Doping in Rio Olympics
A group of hackers hacked the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) database and released the medical files of four American Olympic athletes, which includes Serena Williams and Venus Williams. It was confirmed by WADA officials on Tuesday.
The hacker Fancy Bear said on its website that they would expose illicit doping US athletes like gymnast Simone Biles, basketball player Elena Delle Donne and the Williams sisters. The documents posted on their website shows that the athletes were granted exemptions by WADA to use banned drugs.
Simone Biles - tested positive after illicit methylphenidate, a psychostimulant, was detected in her sample. Biles had been taking amphetamine for a while.
American basketball star Elena Delle Donne - tested positive on amphetamine.
Serena & Venus Williams - tested positive on oxycodone and hydromorphone (opioids), prednisone, prednisolone, and methylprednisolone.
