Kyrie Irving Traded To Boston for Isaiah Thomas

Kyrie Irving, Isaiah Thomas, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers,

Earlier Kyrie Irving put out his desire to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers, and on Tuesday he got his wish. He was traded to the Boston Celtics for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the Brooklyn Nets' 2018 first-round pick.

“Kyrie is one of the best scorers in the NBA. He has proven that on the biggest stage, the NBA Finals, the last three years,” said Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge. “He’s been an NBA Champion, an Olympic Gold Medalist, and a four-time All-Star. For all he’s accomplished, we think his best years are ahead of him.”

“Isaiah and Jae have been a huge part of our success,” said Celtics Co-Owner and Governing Partner Wyc Grousbeck. “Isaiah’s playoff performance under very difficult circumstances will live on in history, and we wish them all the best.”

Selected by Cleveland with the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Irving, 25, has posted career averages of 21.6 points (45.7% FG, 38.3% 3-PT, 87.3% FT), 3.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.32 steals and 34.2 minutes in 381 games (all starts) throughout six seasons with the Cavaliers. The 6-3 guard has registered a scoring average north of 20.0 points in four of his six NBA seasons, including a career-high 25.2 points in 2016-17.

Irving played a vital role in helping Cleveland capture its first NBA title in 2016, averaging 25.2 points on 47.5% shooting (44.0% 3-PT), and 4.7 assists during the Cavaliers 21-game playoff run to history. He scored a postseason-high 41 points on 17-of-24 shooting (5-7 3-PT) in a win against the Warriors in Game 5 of the NBA Finals that season, one of 18 games in which the Duke product logged at least 20 points. In three career postseason appearances, all of which resulted in trips to the NBA Finals, Irving has averaged 23.9 points (46.5% FG, 41.5% 3-PT, 87.6% FT), 3.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.46 steals and 36.4 minutes in 52 games.

In parts of three seasons with the Celtics, Thomas averaged 24.7 points (44.3% FG, 36.8% 3-PT, 88.9% FT), 2.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists. Crowder produced 12.8 points (44.4% FG, 35.3% 3-PT, 80.4% FT), 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in parts of three seasons in Boston.

“Isaiah embodied what it meant to be a Celtic. He captured fans’ hearts not only with his spirit, but his personality,” said Ainge. “Jae’s toughness was contaigious for our team. He improved his skills each year, but it’s his energy and fight that will be remembered. We wish them and their families the very best.”

This is no surprise at all since the Celtics were, by far, the team that could offer the best deal for Irving, an All-Star point guard who is likely the best at-the-rim finisher in the NBA.

The deal not only gets them Irving, but means they don’t have to worry about giving a long-term, lucrative deal to Thomas, who may have already had the best season of his career and who seems to have a bad hip. With Kyrie in green, Thomas had to be included in the deal, as he would not have accepted a role backing up Kyrie. Even though Thomas hit all the necessary plot points this summer to gain the favor of Boston fans everywhere, trading him was a no-brainer when it meant that Boston would get Irving, who will now slot in alongside Gordon Hayward and Al Horford—creating a very competent big three—glue guys Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris, and young guns Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

NBA Kevin Durant Said India is 20 years behind then Apologized

NBA Kevin Durant, India, people pooping in the street

Golden State Warriors star basketball player Kevin Durant apologized for calling India "20 years behind" and other comments about the country. He said on Twitter, "sorry that my comments about India were taken out of context."

Durant traveled to India recently and spoke about the trip in an interview with The Athletic website published this week. During the interview Durant described India, he said "cows in the street, monkeys running around everywhere, hundreds of people on the side of the road, people pooping in the street." "It's a country that's 20 years behind in terms of knowledge and experience," he continued.

"Mud in the middle of the street, houses were not finished but there were people living in them. No doors. No windows... stray dogs and then, boom, Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world."

Kyrie Irving Trade

Lebron shout at kyrie, Lebron yells at kyrie, cleveland cavaliers, lebron james

Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland Cavaliers that's no surprise according to Chauncey Billups he said He "knew so much about the situation (in Cleveland) that the rest of the world doesn’t know." He added that Irving’s trade request “didn’t surprise” him, but he said it was “unfortunate.” Kyrie wants to lead a team and no longer wants to be Lebron James' Tonto anymore.

So which possible team will snag him out of Cleveland? It was reported that Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves are top candidates  to land the four-time All-Star.

Chris Haynes of ESPN said Irving wants to be traded to any of the following teams Heat, Timberwolves, New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. The Cleveland Cavaliers front office wants "a blue-chip young player" as the centerpiece of a package for Irving. Timberwolves have Andrew Wiggins, while the Suns can trade Eric Bledsoe and Josh Jackson.

As for the San Antonio Spurs, they can offer Tony Parker, Danny Green, Dejounte Murray and a first round pick which doesn't sound good for the Cavs since they want a young player in return. I think the Spurs is highly unlikey to land Kyrie. The New York Knicks has a better shot, they can trade Carmelo Anthony and some future first-rounders.

Kyrie Irving really wants out he even “unfollow” LeBron James on Instagram.

Manny Pacquiao Losses WBO title to Aussie Jeff Horn, Horn Calls Out Mayweather

Pacquiao, Jeff Horn, boxing, Battle of Brisbane, PacHorn

Pacquiao, Jeff Horn, boxing, Battle of Brisbane, PacHorn

Manny Pacquiao was the favorite to win the world welterweight title match against unknown Australian Jeff Horn and with Pacquiao's performance it looked like he had won, he rocked Horn, Horn was bloodied and he was nearly floored in the ninth round. unfortunately, for Pacquiao the judges didn't favor him. Horn was awarded a stunning unanimous decision Judge Waleska Roldan had it 117-111, and judges Chris Flores and Ramon Cerdan both had it 115-113 for Horn. ESPN.com scored it 117-111 for Pacquiao, and ESPN ringside analyst Teddy Atlas also had it for Pacquiao, 116-111.

"That's the decision of the judges. I respect that," Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao holds the contractual right to a rematch, and he said he would exercise it.

"Absolutely, yes," Pacquiao said of fighting Horn again in Australia. "We have a rematch clause, so no problem."

The fight, which aired live on ESPN, was Pacquiao's first non-pay-per-view fight since 2005 and supposed to be a showcase. That Horn was still standing at the end of the rough, tough fight was a surprise, but Pacquiao looked to be the clear winner until his belt was handed to Horn, a 29-year-old former Olympian and former school teacher with a very thin ring résumé.

Horn seemed as shocked as anyone that he got the decision.

Pacquiao also dominated the CompuBox punch statistics, getting credit for landing 182 of 573 blows (32 percent), while Horn landed 92 of 625 (15 percent). Pacquiao also landed more punches in 11 of the 12 rounds, according to CompuBox.

It's Official GS Warriors is the 2017 NBA Champions

Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, The NBA Finals 2017, LeBron James,Kevin Durant,Draymond Green

The Golden State Warriors bag the 2017 NBA Championship trophy by defeating Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120 win in Game 5.

The Golden State Warriors were back home for Game 5 of the 2017 NBA Finals at Oracle Arena, where they have eliminated the Cleveland Cavaliers and win their second championship in three seasons. The defending champs didn't go down without a fight, and that was evident with how LeBron James and Kyrie Irving played. LeBron James showed why he is the top player in the NBA he scored willfully with 41 points, grabbed 13 boards and dished out eight assists. Kyrie Irving and J.R. Smith combined for 51 points. But they are no match against the fire power of the Warriors Kevin Durant, a first-year Warrior and NBA Finalist for the first time since 2012, punctuated his series MVP effort with 39 points on 14-of-20 shooting. Not to be outdone, his MVP running mate Stephen Curry delivered 34 points and 10 assists.

The NBA now head to an offseason that will be filled with questions for the other 28 teams who by the look of it are just pawns for these two (Golden State and Cleveland) superteams. If you look at the other teams a fourth straight Finals in 2018 between Golden State and Cleveland is very much in play.

Game Over Golden State Warriors Is the NBA Champions

NBA Championship 2017, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliersm Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry

Sorry Lebron James and Cleveland Cavaliers fans this series is over Golden State Warriors will win it all it may not be the next game but being up 3-0 it's a no-brainer. The Golden State Warriors broke the Cavs heart to win Game 3 and effectively ending the 2017 NBA Finals. Durant finished with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were exceptional too combining for 77 points but wasted the game by losing 118-113.

James said the Warriors has "probably the most, most firepower I've played in my career." The Cavs was still leading by 6 points led the Warriors by six with 3 minutes, 9 seconds left before Golden State closed on an 11-0 run, led by Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. KD now has scored 30-plus in all three games of the Finals. Curry contributed 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Klay Thompson, after starting the series going 3-for-16 in Game 1, shot 11-for-18 on Wednesday en route to 30 points.

"I said it after we won the Eastern Conference finals that we're getting ready for a juggernaut," James said. "It's probably the most, most firepower I've played in my career. I played against some great teams, but I don't think no team has had this type of firepower."

We all know that Cavs last year had a 3-1 comeback and that we should not write off LeBron James and the Cavs but things are different now, the Warriors have Durantula now and what's more scary is Durant and Curry are perfect complements to one another. The Golden State Warriors will wreak havoc in the league for many years to come as long as their team is in tact.

N.B.A. Draft Lottery 2017: Celtics Got 1st Pick, Markelle Fultz?

NBA Draft Lottery 2017, Boston Celtics, Markelle Fultz

The Boston Celtics got the top pick on Tuesday night in the 2017 draft lottery. They had acquired the pick as part of a trade with the Nets in 2013. The Los Angeles Lakers got the No. 2 pick, followed by the Philadelphia 76ers at No. 3. The Knicks, who had a 5.3 percent chance of getting the top pick, received the No. 8 slot.

Boston had a 25% chance to get the 1st seed and the opportunity to build an Eastern Conference giant. It was part of the payoff for a 2013 trade in which the Nets sent the Celtics their 2014, 2016, and 2018 first-round picks, along with the right to swap picks this year, for Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

While Garnett and Pierce are now retired and the Nets were the worst team in the league this season, the Celtics have continued to build a contender with those assets. They took Jaylen Brown with the third overall pick last June and now have the No. 1 pick to leverage.

Here's my mock draft for 2017:

1st Boston Celtics : Markelle Fultz is an easy top pick, Danny Ainge will be an idiot to pass on him.
2nd Los Angeles Lakers: Lonzo Ball
3rd Philadelphia 76ers: Jayson Tatum
4th Phoenix Suns: Josh Jackson
5th Sacramento Kings: De’Aaron Fox

John Wall Told Celtics: "Don't come to my city, wearing all black"

John Wall, Wizards, Washington Wizards

John Wall's late-game heroics saved the Washington Wizards' from the brink of elimination. Players from the Boston Celtics' had an all-black pregame attire, but John Wall's 3-pointer with 3.5 seconds to play delivered Friday's saved the Wizards that even the series and forced a Game 7.

"Don't come to my city, wearing all black, talking about a funeral," Wall told ESPN on the court after the 92-91 win.

With a chance to bag the series, the players of the Boston Celtics arrived at the Verizon Center nearly all decked out in black suits, shirts, pants and vests.

"I didn't know that they wore all black today," Wizards guard Bradley Beal said. "But it doesn't faze us. It is what it is. They came in and played hard. We're not going to take anything from them."

"It was just funny to me," Wall told reporters of the Celtics' attire. "I mean, talking to family and friends, they get to see what's happening on social media. I try to stay off it ... and they just said they were gonna wear all black, so we knew it was kind of copy-catting what we did. It was in my mind throughout the game. I didn't want them to come here in all black and basically call it a funeral and we lose at home. We made some plays and the ball went our way at the end, and now we get to force a Game 7 at their place."

Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, who was serving a life sentence for a murder conviction and just days ago was acquitted of a double murder, died after commiting suicide by hanging himself in his prison cell early Wednesday according to Massachusetts prisons officials.

Tibet Women's Soccer Team US visas Denied

soccer, football, Tibet womens soccer team

soccer, football, Tibet womens soccer team

A women's soccer team in Tibet said that they have been denied from getting United States visas to join a tournament in Texas. They said that the US officials told them that they had "no good reason" to visit the US.

Most of the players are Tibetan refugees living in India, and had applied at the US embassy in Delhi. The United States has temporarily barred people from seven countries. But Tibetans and Indians are not on the list.

Cassie Childers, the executive director of Tibet Women's Soccer and a US citizen, said  that went with the group of 16 players for their interviews at the embassy on February 24.

"I am disappointed because we had planned the trip for months. It was a big moment in every player's life when they were told about the trip. It was their opportunity to tell the world that Tibetan women are capable of achieving anything," she said.

Ms Childers added that she was "ashamed" that her country refused to grant visas to a women's football team.

However, she said she did not think the denial had anything to do with the Trump administration.

"I had feared an outcome like this because Tibetans usually struggle to get US visas as officials fear that they might request asylum," she said.

She added that her team "was in good spirits despite this setback".

"The players are very positive. I was very dejected but they motivated me. I hope some other place will invite us where Tibetans are welcomed. Otherwise, we will just get together in an Indian city and practice anyway."

Most of the women in the team carry Indian Identity Certificates, which are documents issued by the Indian government to Tibetan refugees and function as passports.

Two members of the group held Indian passports.

A US official told the AP news agency that they did not comment on individual cases, but that the US position on Tibet had not changed, which is that Tibet is still recognized as part of China.

They were planning to take part in the Dallas Cup, a yearly tournament for youth teams from around the world.

Joel Embiid Heading Towards Greg Oden's Path

Joel Embiid, Greg Oden, fragile big, torn meniscus, broken bone

Joel Embiid, Greg Oden, fragile big, torn meniscus, broken bone

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid’s season is over due to left knee problems, that includes a torn meniscus. Embiid had not yet even played since January 27, and the 76ers announced recently that he would likely return later this week. Unfortunately, an MRI performed on Monday showed the meniscus problem was worse than the original diagnosis suggested, and after reviewing that information the 76ers decided to end his season.

This leaves the question is Joel Embiid the new Greg Oden? Is he a fragile big? Embiid total games in the 2016-2017 season is just 31 and he did not even played at all in his first two seasons. He only played 31 games out of 246 games in the three years of his career. If you compared that to Greg Oden, Oden was able to play 82 games in that time frame. In that case, Oden was healthier than Embiid considering that time frame. After his second season, Oden missed three seasons in a row and barely played again.

However, their injuries are completely different since Oden had three microfracture procedures on his knees and a fractured left patella that has ended his career in Portland. While Joel Embiid injuries includes a broken foot, followed with a less serious a knee injury.

This is just bad luck for the Sixers who are still dealing with Ben Simmons’ injury.

Tom Brady after winning the Super Bowl 51 last Sunday in a come-from-behind thriller is the Greatest Quarterback Of All Time (GQOAT) no doubt about it. The Patriots climbed from a 25-point deficit en route to a stunning 34-28 overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Tom Brady, Patriots, Atlanta Falcons,New England Patriots

He has now five (5) Super Bowl rings, Tom Brady has also been named Super Bowl MVP four (4) times, for Super Bowl XXVI, Super Bowl XXXVIII, Super Bowl XLIX and Super Bowl LI. He has also been chosen for the NFL Pro Bowl ten times, two of those times as first team all-pro.

It was the biggest come-from-behind Super Bowl victory, the first Super Bowl overtime and a record fifth Super Bowl win for Brady and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

Can you name other quarterback who has five Super Bowl rings? He now tops four-time winners Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw. Even though Brady ranks behind others based on other measurements. He's not far off.

Peyton Manning holds the two major statistical records (yards and touchdowns), Brady only trails Brett Favre and Drew Brees in both categories. Brady trails Manning by over 10,000 passing yards.

Passing Yards

Manning 71,940
Favre 71,838
Brees 66,111
Brady 61,582

When it comes to passer rating, he's on top.

TAMPA, Florida — Clemson shocked Alabama with one second left in regulation. Quarterback Deshaun Watson was able to hit wide receiver Hunter Renfrow on a two-yard touchdown pass with one second remaining to give the Clemson Tigers a 35-31 win in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at the Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida.

Star quarterback Deshaun Watson led Clemson throwing 420 yards despite facing a defense heralded as one of the best ever. With two minutes left and they were trailing by 3 points, Watson got the ball at his own 32 and started a drive. Nine plays and 68 yards later, with 1 second on the clock, Hunter Renfrow caught a 2-yard touchdown to win the game.

The touchdown on the 9-play 68-yard drive came just after Alabama capped a crazy 68-yard drive of its own to take a 31-28 lead with 2:07 to play.

Clemson’s win avenges a 45-40 defeat to the Tide a year ago in the national title game. And it gives credence to Clemson coach Dabo Swinney’s comparison that the two college football heavyweights were like famous boxers Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali.
