Akron holds on for 24-17 win over Miami (Ohio)
OXFORD, Ohio -- Akron hold their lead to a 24-17 win against Miami (Ohio) on Saturday. Jawon Chisholm had three touchdowns.
Akron (2-6, 1-3 Mid-American) were leading 24-7 through the fourth quarter, Miami (0-7, 0-3) refused to go out quietly and made it a one possession game after a 44-yard touchdown pass from Austin Boucher to Dawan Scott and a 52-yard field goal from Kaleb Patterson. After that Miami in their last attempt tried an onside kick but the Zips recovered and ran out the clock.
Chisholm accomplished 86 yards with 16 carries he scored all three of Akron's touchdowns. Austin Boucher threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns for the RedHawks.
