Dyshawn Pierre had 14 points to lead Dayton Flyers shocking Syracuse Orange 55-53 to advance to the Sweet 16 for the 1st time since 1984 (30 years).
Syracuse Orange star freshman point guard Tyler Ennis was there at the top of the key and with 2 seconds left and with the Flyers having 2 point advantage, he have hit this shot before over and over again but not this time, it was off the mark and clanged off the rim. Dayton Flyers finally won.
Jordan Sibert wasscoreless in the first half but hit a key 3-pointer with 47.7 seconds for Dayton, he finished with 10 points and Sandford had 8 points.
Tyler Ennis finished with 19 points on 7-21 for the Syracuse Orange.
