There are unnamed sources that are saying that the mega fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is done and the fight is already set. Floyd has agreed to the terms and will be fighting Manny Pacquiao. Manny has been hounding Floyd for a fight for a number of years now.
Both camps have been trying to set a deal for a while now to fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2. Both fighters met, talk to each, exchange numbers and shake each others hands at the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks game. Looking at the pictures above looked like Floyd is having a hard time reading something on Manny's phone. It is expected for them to make a formal announcement in the coming days.
One thing for sure based on the pictures above, they are both short.
Floyd Mayweather is ducking Manny Pacquiao and Floyd doesn't mind being called "chicken", a "ducker", or a "coward." Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have been insulting each other for years now and still there are no date for their fight. Boxing fans have been demanding this fight to no avail.
In an interview with Fighthype.com Floyd said about the insults hurled against him on social media, "I laugh about it. I really laugh about it because I say, I don't mind being a rich coward. I am able to put my kids through the best school. I was able to retire my mother. I am able to put my dad in a comfortable position."
"You know even like what social media say and everything. We don't like Floyd, we hate Floyd, but we follow Floyd to comment on Floyd."
"I'm not gonna even take, if it's a person I don't like, I can care less if what he's doing on Instagram, what he's doing on Twitter, what he's doing on Shots, what he's doing on Facebook."
But even if he don't mind being called out on Social media he stated the he don't like bullying being committed on it.
"We got to take bullying away because it's hard on the young generation," he said.
"That's the great thing about the app Shots, people can either like your picture, or they can move on to the next. That's what it's about."
Manny Pacquiao has announced that he is willing give way to the division of profit, while Floyd said the fight will happen on May 2, 2015 but still there are no negotiation.
Boxer Manny Pacquiao issue a challenge to Floyd Mayweather Jr yet again Thursday, September 18, 2014 challenging the recent winner of the Mayweather-Maidana 2 to fight him instead of setting impossible terms that can't be agreed upon.
Pacquiao during the interview said: "He's all talk. Until now he has not yet agreed to fight me. Instead of blabbing, he should face me atop the ring."
"I'm tired of his alibis. If he really wants to fight me, he knows how to reach me. We can fight anytime, anywhere. To me, Maidana won that fight. Mayweather's face and lips were swelling compared to Maidana's unblemished face."
Pacquiao is now 35 and have won world titles in 8th separate weight divisions. He is now preparing to defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title against another undefeated American, Chris Algieri, that will be held in Macau China this November.
Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum said that Floyd Mayweather is now losing his fan base because of his boring fights. During an interview with the South China Morning Post he said,"His PPV numbers have been going down considerably. For example his numbers from the Maidana fight were considerably less than the first fight and less than Pacquiao did when he fought Bradley. What that tells us is that people are getting disgusted with Mayweather and his base is eroding, particularly his urban base in the United States because he’s fighting with very popular rap stars, the urban population is not happy with a lot that goes on in his personal life.”
Floyd Mayweather send Manny Pacquiao a Christmas card through twitter. It shows Floyd holding a stack of cash calling Manny "Manny I'll pay you $40 million to fight." Then Manny texting "No way, you're crazy 50/50 or nothing." Then Manny Pacquiao knocked out cold. The last pictures shows Manny praying for Floyd to call him back.
Floyd Mayweather is still unbeaten with a perfect record of 44 victories as he won by unanimous decision against Robert Guerrero to retain his WBC welterweight title.
This is Mayweather first fight after serving his jail time for three months. He was convicted of domestic violence after beating his ex-wife. The score card for the 12 rounder were 117-111 for all the three judges in favour of Floyd.
Overall it was a slow and boring fight with little action. In the first round Guerrero was aggressive but Floyd seize control in the third round and later rounds just like every Mayweather fight.
In the eight round Mayweather hit Guerrero with a power punch that shocked and wobbled Guerrero. Mayweather continued with straight rights and counter punches that cut Guerrero eye.
Floyd Mayweather failed to knockout a clearly overwhelmed and over-matched Guerrero. This fight was a snooze fest.
Roger Mayweather said that he and his nephew met with Bob Arum a little over a month ago for a couple of hours and that they discussed fights with both Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley. He said that:
"Floyd's gonna fight em, why wouldn't he fight them? Anytime you are getting that type of money, how the hell are you not going to fight them. He has to fight Pacquiao cause that's the fight people want to see and people talk about. If he wouldn't fight Pacquiao he would go down in history as a scared ******* champion, wouldn't he? If he didn't fight Pacquiao, OK then. My Nephew ain't scared of no Pacquiao."
According Ronnie Nathanielsz, Manny Pacquiao has asked promoter Bob Arum to make a bout with Floyd Mayweather a priority. Bob Arum has made it clear that they can only realistically working on the possible fight the world wants to see sometime next year.
Arum said "Obviously the one fight that Pacquiao wants is Floyd." "I don't think we have enough time to do it." Mayweather is in the middle of an 87-day jail sentence for domestic battery at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.
Arum indicated that Pacquiao understand that the Mayweather fight is not going to be this November and that he would need to choose among Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez. However, no decisions were reached.
MANILA, Philippines -- This video contains highlights of yesterday's press tour to promote the third fight between WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and archrival Juan Manuel Marquez.
A press conference was held at the Manila Hotel in the morning, followed by a star-studded show at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta in the afternoon.
Pacquiao and Marquez will clash for a deciding third fight on Nov. 12 (Nov. 13 in Manila) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The two fighters engaged in two close bouts before -- the first one ending in a controversial draw in 2004 and the second one seeing a disputed split-decision win for the Filipino in 2008.
One of the best parts about my job is interacting with the fans. Without the fans, none of this would be possible. First and foremost, I fight for my family, my children. I want to give them the best life possible so I remember that with every fight and each victory is for them. And I even appreciate the fans that don’t support me either. It’s all love.
But after my family and children, I fight for the fans. I have always appreciated their support and when I am in public there really isn’t an autograph I won’t sign. If it wasn’t for the fans, I would not be the king of pay-per-view. I am in awe of their support and that is why I go out of my way to make them happy.
For my last four fight announcements I have always made sure they are included by inviting them to the media tour press conferences. They show me such love and support and it is for this reason that I can continue to train and work hard for each fight in front of me.
The fans are what brought me back to the square circle this time too. I knew that they waited long enough to see me fight again. So when I step into the ring against Victor Ortiz on Sept. 17, I plan on giving them another great performance. It’s the only way to make them happy. It’s the Mayweather way and experience.
I have had some great times with my fans over the years. When we announced this fight against Ortiz , we started the press tour in June in New York City and fans started to line up in the heat beginning at 6 a.m. for a press conference which started at noon. The fans filled the two balconies at the Hudson Theatre in Times Square and stayed for hours for autographs and pictures.
Then we went to Los Angeles and tons of fans came out to this event too. We had it at night because it’s Hollywood, baby and we were promoting “Star Power.” They too were lining up in the early morning to get a great seat to watch the show. My fans know that when I fight, it is a mega-event, and they wanted to be a part of it, which means the world to me.
But I think my most memorable fan moment was in London when I went there to promote my fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. I told my CEO, Leonard Ellerbe, that I wanted to do a public workout. He found the Peacock Boxing Gym and we arranged for the workout and invited the fans.
It was unbelievable how many people showed up. The gym was packed, standing room only. I let them come right to the edge of the ring and surround me on all sides while we worked out. The energy and commotion was something I will never forget. After we finished the workout, I walked out to the balcony of the building so the fans who waited hours to see me, but couldn’t get in the gym, felt my gratitude for their support. I remember we could barely make it back to our cars. It was a fantastic experience and after my September fight I plan to go back and do it again. This time we will find a bigger place.
I also have to give much love to my 1.5 million Twitter followers. When I announced that I was returning to the ring on my Twitter account, even I was amazed at how fast the news spread. I love being able to reach all of my fans at one time and all the time. The responses and messages I get every day are motivation for me to keep working hard in the gym and bring home a win on September 17.
